avahi-dnsconfd software package provides Avahi DNS configuration tool, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install avahi-dnsconfd
avahi-dnsconfd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the avahi-dnsconfd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep avahi-dnsconfd *
You will get with avahi-dnsconfd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
